Ella might have the hugest crush ever on billionaire bad boy Jacob Knight, but that doesn't excuse him for ruining her best job prospect.
Jacob, meanwhile, is used to getting his way. He has his own plans for Ella. He sees nothing wrong with charging in and claiming her for his own.
People warn Ella to stay away from Jacob. If only it were that easy. The question is, is Jacob the big bad wolf her friends make him out to be, or is he the hero his last name suggests?

FROM THE BOOK:
Jacob Knight ripped her phone from her fingers. "Hello?" he said into the mouthpiece.
"What are you doing?" Ella said. "Give that back!"
Jacob held her away easily, with one arm.
"Give me my phone!"
"Yes," he said. "Who am I? This is Jacob Knight."
"How dare you," she cried, fighting him, desperate and furious. His mesmerizing charm broke its hold over her, evaporating in an instant. This wasn't a joke!
"No, she's busy right now," Jacob said, speaking to her new boss, who was obviously completely rethinking his whole offer by now.
"You're ruining my life!" she said.
Jacob turned his back on her. "I'm sorry, but Ella has had a better offer. No, she won't be coming in tomorrow. No, I'm sorry. Yes, thanks." Pause. "Up yours, too. Goodbye." He clicked off.
"What the hell was that?" she gasped.
"How much did you say they were offering?" he asked.
"I didn't. And it's none of your business!"
"It is, because I've just doubled it."
"What are you talking about?"
"You need a job, I'm giving you one."
"I already had one, and you just ruined it!" she shouted, almost in tears. "You just cost me the only thing I ever wanted!"
"Edward James is going under. Every insider knows it. I'd give them two months, max. I just saved you from getting laid off." He turned and headed for the pool.
Ella watched his retreating back. Then she slammed her finger against the elevator call button. Saved her from getting laid of, yeah right! He was a bully, plain and simple. And he liked telling people what to do. He obviously got a rush from it.
She might have pined for him earlier, but he was a jerk. Hot or not, she hated him.
The worst part was that he'd given her no choice.
What could she do but obey?
