Sparrow House, by Karin Kaufman, is a good mystery through and through. Although second in a series the book is easily a stand alone read. Murder, mystery and mayhem, add a touch of romance and you will be reading through the night to finish the book. Genealogist Anna and her friend are staying in a supposedly haunted house. And just what are those sounds during the night--did you just hear that? Why are the pictures moving? Wait a second that was not there last night! And just who is Alice? The author does a great job of posing lots of questions for the reader to try to figure out and wraps it all up in a surprise ending. Twists and turns, tension and suspense, friends and enemies...Sparrow House has it all. And where did that name come from anyway! Becky Doughty did a marvelous job with the narration, making for an enjoyable listening experience. I received an audible copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
