More About This Book

Overview

When your deepest, darkest fantasy shows up, get on board.

Special Delivery, Book 1

Sam Keller knows he’ll never find the excitement he craves in Middleton, Iowa—not while he’s busting his ass in nursing school and paying rent by slaving away in a pharmacy stockroom.

Then Sam meets Mitch Tedsoe, an independent, long-haul trucker who makes a delivery to a shop across the alley. Innocent flirting quickly leads to a fling, and when Mitch offers to take him on a road trip west, Sam jumps at the chance for adventure.

Mitch is sexy, funny and friendly, but once they embark on their journey, something changes. One minute he’s the star of Sam’s every x-rated fantasy, the next he’s almost too much a perfect gentleman. And when they hit the Las Vegas city limit, Sam has a name to pin on Mitch’s malady: Randy.

For better or for worse, Sam grapples with the meaning of friendship, letting go, growing up—even the meaning of love—because no matter how far he travels, eventually all roads lead home.

This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.

Warning: This story contains trucker fantasies, threesomes and kinky consensual sex.

    Worth the Effort

Okay I picked this one for the challenge read and this one was a challenge. The developing relationship between Mitch and Sam seemed to seesaw between a caring relationship and something that seemed not just dark but almost inappropriate. And it seemed that each time I was ready to throw in the towel and say I just can't do this the mood would switch and once again I was rooting for them as a couple and what they could be for each other. But the feelings that I was going through as I read the story seemed to be a match for the mood swings of the characters themselves and I think this is what in the end really sets this book apart from being a good book to a great book. Heidi Cullinan takes her characters on a journey of self-discovery and in the process took me as a rider along for the ride. This book was so worth the journey and a look forward to more.

    Great read

I put this on my "to be read" list and I should have put it immediately on "currently reading" list. What fun! Great MC's, entertaining writing and a unique story. I'm looking forward to the sequels!!

What an unlikely couple Mitch and Sam are!  They lead completely opposite lives but they are so compatible otherwise.  Mitch is older and has lived his life and explored his likes.  Sam just has the burning desire to do so.  The first time they meet and what should’ve been a “one night stand” turns into more when they can’t stop thinking about each other.

Mitch is a trucker passing through town with a delivery.  He sees Sam, who is just a young college boy working at his uncle’s pharmacy.  His parents died and left him in the care of his aunt/uncle and they haven’t been kind to him.  I felt for Sam the whole time because he hasn’t had a chance to be truly happy.  Yes, he’s a bit whiny.  OK a lot sometimes.  But that’s something that is to be expected because of his age.

This book is raw and dirty, but also deep and emotional.  This book is more than just the physical BDSM.  Sam has a need to be used, maybe even like a whore, more so than any actual spanking or rope play.  It’s how he deals with those feelings in a world where you’re supposed to have enough self respect not to want that.  Don’t get me wrong, the sex is still pretty damn hot!  It’s just more intense when you take in the reasoning behind some of the stuff.

The threesome and the whole Randy dynamic… I wasn’t such a big fan.  I am a bit confused as to what all went down between Mitch and Randy in the past and what their relationship really was.  I get that it never worked out that way but it was still just a bit fuzzy.  I would’ve probably liked better a random threesome with less of the emotional attachments.  However, again, it was still hot.

I loved seeing Mitch and Sam opening up as their travels together continued.  And they got to a point where they knew they could make something work.  And work it will take!

I am excited to see what this series brings next!
