Meet Hailey — possessed by an other-worldly being from another dimension who was previously trapped in her Kindle.

When Hailey Parrish discovered her husband was cheating with her co-worker, she swore off men. Then, she had to find another job when her boss went to prison for running a prostitution ring in his spare time. Three years later, Hailey still hadn’t gone on a date and she milks chinchilla for a living.

Her life was about to get weirder.

While in pursuit of inter-dimensional miscreants who use their arcane powers to prey upon humans, Sebastian Kess was ambushed and mortally wounded. To save his life, he used his own magic to convert his soul to binary code and transfer it into Hailey’s soon-to-be shipped Kindle eBook reader. When Hailey inadvertently releases him and he inhabits her body, she finally has a man inside her, just not in the way she imagined.

Hailey must come to grips with the existence of the parallel dimension of Coursodon and the realization that magically inclined non-humans walk the world all while dealing with Sebastian’s arrogant banter in her head. Her predicament also introduces her to another supernatural, the handsome could-be-the-man-of-her-dreams Alex Sunderland. The action moves from Hailey’s hometown of Tucson, Arizona to New England and across Europe as she and Alex try to return
Sebastian to his own body while staying one step ahead of the criminals who want to keep him where he is.

Special Offers, the first book of the Coursodon Dimension Series, combines urban fantasy, paranormal romance, a bit of science fiction and a healthy dose of quirky humor.

Meet the Author

M.L. Ryan is a professional woman - which is not to say that she gave up her amateur status, but rather that she is over-educated with a job that reflects her one-time reluctance to leave school and get "real" work – and she spends a lot of time in that profession reading highly technical material. She has many stories rolling around in her head, and she finally decided to write some of them. She prefers literature that isn’t saddled with excruciating symbolism, ponderous dialogue or worldly implications. She also doesn’t like plots so reliant on love at first sight that it makes her feel like her head might implode. She lives in Tucson, Arizona with her husband and teenage son, four cats, two dogs and two adopted desert tortoises.

I hate giving bad reviews. It literally hurts my body and I feel like drinking a whole lot of hard liquor when I know I have to post a, dare I say, negative review. However, reading this book was like forcing myself to color with my child. I know that might sound really mean to some of you but I hate to color. I can't think of anything more boring than having to sit and color for even fifteen minutes. I couldn't find anything I liked about the characters. This book started out, via the blurb, with so much promise. I mean a supernatural theme about the 'special offers' on the Kindle releasing a 'spirit'. I was like YAY! I'm all over this. Then I started to read it. There was no tension, the characters were all one-dimensional cut outs that never latched onto me emotionally for me to care! You can't scare, or impact a reader unless they really care about the characters. It read like a college thesis paper. "She got out of bed. She put up on her shirt. She then put on her pants. She walked out of her room. Once she was out of the room she walked down the very long hallway..." You get where I'm going with this. The writing didn't latch. There was no hook. Even when we are introduced to a really hot male character... yeah. He was boring too. I tried so hard. I pushed and marched on, hoping that I would be like, "Oh, there it is!" That just didn't happen and it was disheartening. I hate to say that the writing just wasn't 'pretty', but it wasn't. It was very blah and it jarred the reader from one scene to the next. I understand that I am in the minority here. I did read all the other reviews, and it was one of the things that encouraged me to read this. This is purely taste. Not everyone connects with every writers voice, and I didn't connect with this one. Most people seem to really enjoy this book. It just appeared to not be my cup of tea. *I received a copy of this book via Lovers of Paranormal romance on behalf of the author in exchange for an honest review.*

As the owner of A Girl and Her Kindle, I simply had to read this book. While the idea of electronics invading our lives in such a personal way is nothing new, M.L. Ryan creates a unique spin by using the beloved Kindle. I was quickly drawn into the novel by not only the great storyline, but the cast of characters. I would highly recommend this book to any reader that loves the supernatural and romantic comedies. This one is a real winner and should not be missed.

I am an avid reader and love paranormal romance and paranormal mysteries. I saw this on a facebook ad and decided to read it. A VERY good decision. This book is well written, the characters are likable, sharp-witted and the story is a very original concept. I am looking forward to more books with these characters, the author left it wide open for a very enjoyable series. My only complaint? We have to wait for more! :)

If you just heard the unearthly wail of someone screaming “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”, then you were probably in the near vicinity as I finished up my latest R2R adventure, Special Offers by author M.L. Ryan. Damn you, Ms. Ryan. But let me start at the beginning…. I received this book for free through my online book club Goodreads, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. All thoughts and opinions are mine, all mine. An avid book reading, sexually frustrated, chinchilla milker (no, that’s not a typo) named Hailey is in a funk. She’s a divorced young woman who lives in a 1 bedroom apartment with her cat Vinnie, and who hasn’t been on a date since her ill-fated nuptials ended 3 years earlier. She finally decides to join the e-book era and purchases a Kindle e-reader, never suspecting that one, insignificant event would thrust her into a world of super-secret trans-oceanic missions with gorgeous fellas, underground secret spy chalets for extra-dimensional wanderers, and the shared co-habitation of not one, but TWO super-hunky dreamy alien men. One in her body, and one who she’d like to be in her body. (wink!) But no, dear readers – I will not divulge any more salacious details. Suffice it to say that the book ends with a cliffhanger (RE: aforementioned “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!”), and I find that I just may have another favorite author. This book has wit and snark in spades, and M.L.Ryan has created a refreshing, cheeky character with Hailey. Would consider this a ‘New Adult’ novel, since there are some racy parts (wowza – Helllloooooo Alex!). Get this book. Read this book. Support this author so that she can write more deliciously wicked stuff!!

I found this book by browsing and snatched it up because it was free and figured why not. I read a lot of paranormal romance books and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book, having never heard of the author. Needless to say after not being able to put the book down I finished it that night and went on to purchase both the second and third books in this series. GREAT BOOKS! I never usually write reviews for books but being unable to put them down and finishing the three in three days I figured I had to give credit to this series. The only sad part is book four is not out and I have to wait!

3.5 Stars I loved the idea of a soul being stuck in a Kindle and knew I had to read this book.  It was well written and the characters had distinct personalities but something kept nagging me as I was reading. I finally started making notes in my Kindle while reading and almost all of them said the same thing - "too formal". I think it would have been even more fun had the dialogue and description been a little more casual but I enjoyed it anyway. So, if you like romance, sci-fi and the paranormal, it's definitely worth a read, but you might never look at your Kindle the same way again. :-) This book was provided to me free of charge, by Bewitching Book Tours, for my honest opinion.

I actually enjoyed this. I just finished the second and want to read the third. I find the series funny and witty. It makesbgreat twists on popular supernatural generes...recommended.

I liked the idea of shared possession, however the interaction between the characters felt forced. Conversations were very superficial and the storyline of the book was kept very simple. Little real information was given to build a connection to the characters. At the end, the connection scene to the next book felt more like an add on then part of the story. For a free read it was cute, but I will not continue the series.

Special Offerings is a delightfully fun and fast read with a uniquely quirky heroine and an unusual premise for beings from another dimension. I usually like a lot of detail and depth in my scifi/fantasy selections. But I found that the author succeeded in quickly creating a believable world that was a pleasure to visit. There are several more books in the series, and I look forward to reading them.
