Valitsky studied with Stockhausen and worked with Lydia Lunch, the Soldier String Quartet and others and cites such influences as John Cage, Charles Mingus, Led Zeppelin and TV commercials, all of which seemed to have come into play when he made this album. The frenetic jazzock/whatever weirdness of John Trubee and Zoogz Rift are apt comparisons to some of what Valitsky comes up with here, but his palette is much more diverse and often unsettling.
