    Royal Pain

In order to calculate your WPM (word-per-minute) reading rate, one divides the time to read the selection into the number of words in the reading selecton. This means you get to count the words; the author didn't.

Not recommended; select another book in which there are word counts. Or skip the exercises, read the text, and take a self-study DvD course at your local library.
