Picks up where the anime ends; a wonderful continuation of the series and definitely a must for any fan. If you want to get into this thoughtful series of medieval merchants and economics with a hint of fantasy I would suggest starting with volume 1 and working your way up. Character interactions are a joy to observe.

    The Hunt Is On!

After the betrayal by Eve in Lenos, Lawrence and Holo engage in pursuit despite her sizable lead. In their pursuit of Eve (affectionately referred to as "the Vixen" by Holo), they come across a young boy who claims Lawrence is his master. What??? As they traverse the river and the dangers therein, they learn more about this young boy and the potential he holds. In addition to the danger and comedy, tensions continue to rise between Lawrence and Holo, almost reaching a breaking point. Can Lawrence and Holo express themselves and be understood by each other? Or will their parting be as final as the cold north? This is another great book in the series written by Isuna Hasekura. It brings many more details to light about what is happening up north and who the major players are in this intrepid game. This book also leaves you wishing it wasn't over already, but then again, so do all of the books.

A beautiful story most definitely worth checking out.

I've seen both seasons of the show, currently reading the light novels and finished the manga till the most recent volume. Can't wait for the release of volume 8 as well as for the novel.
