"Drink up, Kaz. The night is young." Carlos slammed a Janovian ale on the table in front of Kazha Deinos.

Eyeing it mutinously, Kaz shook his head. He wasn't drunk enough to miss the contemptuous eye roll Carlos directed at Draven. Nor did he fail to see Draven's dismissive shrug.

"Man up, Kaz. You've spent too much time hanging around the fuck pit you own—you're starting to act like those bottom boys who work for you."

Defiantly, Kaz swallowed a large mouthful of the hazy red liquid. Anything to distract Carlos from contemplating his sexuality. Carlos had been trying to bait him, sure, but the comment illustrated exactly why he couldn't let his guard down around his friends. As his fantasies suggested, he was just like the bottom boys who worked for him, but he'd not had any personal experience getting fucked. Not that he could admit those desires to anyone of his acquaintance.

"Stop calling it a fuck pit, shithead. I own the best brothel, male or female, in the Galactic Alliance. It's way more sophisticated than a fuck pit." Back when his father ran the brothel, Spice 'n' Solace and cheap hook-up place were synonymous. But Kaz completely transformed it after his father's death, and he was damned proud of what he'd accomplished and how in demand his employees were by wealthy and aristocratic members of the alliance.

"Yeah, yeah, we've heard this argument before." Draven kicked the leg of the table like a petulant child.

"Why don't you hire some damned girls? Like Vaughn did. I'm sick of paying full price for pussy. Wouldn't you make more credits?" Carlos was wearing his "aren't I smart?" face. Too bad Carlos wasn't as smart as he thought.

Draven nodded his agreement. Kaz grimaced. His business plan worked, and he had plenty of loyal customers. Without the substantial discount he gave them, his friends would never be able to afford S'n'S's escorts, but they always wanted more.

Irritation was beginning to steal his buzz, so he took another sip. It was a delicate operation, drinking enough to feel the effects, but not get stupid. "Vaughn can chase after every person with an itch to scratch if he wants. He'd hire Auralian stink worms if he thought someone would pay to fuck them." Vaughn Dalhaji was under the delusion his establishment was in direct competition with Kaz's. It wasn't.

Vaughn hired men and women. Vaughn's customers were men and women.

Kaz didn't have any female employees, aside from his brothel manager, Lani. Spice 'n' Solace didn't have any female customers, not even those who wanted to watch a couple of guys fuck. He dealt strictly in gay sex, in a time-honored tradition stemming from his criminal roots. His grandfather had started the brothel on the outskirts of civilization at a time when paying for gay sex was outlawed throughout the alliance and before Elora Ki's inclusion within official alliance borders.

"There's already too many worms at S'n'S." Carlos dug an elbow into Draven's side, and they both laughed.

Kaz's stomach roiled, a reminder he'd already had more to drink more than usual. He needed to redirect his friends' attention to something besides drinking. And his sexual preferences.

Absolutely wonderful, VERY HOTT LOVE SCENES, fantastic plot/writing

Loved this #1 SciFy m/m romance. Awesome story that never takes the HOTT sexy love scenes to a repetitive level, but instead, keeps us hanging on to every word, eyes never leaving my nook, and was truly engrossed/infatuared with this 1st edithion in the series.
