Spider-Man 2by Danny Elfman
As you might expect from a soundtrack accompanying a flick as supersized as this superhero sequel, the sounds on Spider-Man 2 are, by and large, big and bold. But unlike a good many blockbuster accompaniments, the disc sounds like it was put together with plenty of consideration about matching sights and sounds. As such, Dashboard Confessional's typically inward-looking "Vindicated" captures the trials of Peter Parker -- Spidey's alter ego -- with a combination of conflict and determinedness. Similarly, emo stalwarts Taking Back Sunday bring the noise with both angst and anger on the gnashing "This Photograph Is Proof." The disc also gives some bands a chance to break character, with the Ataris shelving their stripped-down punk approach long enough to churn out a good old-fashioned power ballad (in the form of "The Night the Lights Went Out in NYC") and Yellowcard mixing it up with both acoustic guitars and layered harmonies (on the keening "Gifts and Curses"). All in all, this soundtrack is certainly powerful enough to stand up to whatever special effects producers might throw the musicians' way.

The second movie was excellent, but this second soundtrack is phenonminal! It expresses every feeling shown and felt in that second movie. Dashboard Confessional, Yellowcard, Train, The Ataris, Jet, Maroon 5, Taking Back Sunday, and other great bands are lined up for a terrific listening experience.
This soundtrack is good, even if you dont like the movie. but the movie is good too. it features new music from Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, Jet, Yellowcard, and others. the song "Gifts and Curses" by Yellowcard is absolutely amazing. "Vindicated" is good, and so is TAking BAck SUnday's song. buy this cd!
Personally, I think the second sountrack is 100% better than the first. The songs are just great. Definitely get this CD.
First of all, do not expect heavy grunting into a microphone and numerous mindless guitar riffs that might be typical of an action movie. That said, this is a great album with many great songs. Yellowcard's "Gifts and Curses" is purpose enough to buy the album, and songs by Hoobastank, Dashboard Confessional and other bands are just the icing on the cake.
This soundtrack is awesome, its a great complement for a great movie. It's got great up-and-coming artists and subsequently great songs. Just read all of these reviews on the page and you get an idea of how overwhelmingly good everyone thinks it is.
I just bought the album the other day and cant stop listening to it. The song choice is excellent! From Dashboard Confessional to Train to Taking Back Sunday. Well done! Pick up the cd!!
I'm sorry but this sucks. It has bad artists and bad songs theres not one nice thing about it.
I have the soundtracks from both the first and second Spider-Man movies and just as the second movie outdid the first, the second soundtrack is twice as good. There are tunes to rock by and tunes to chill by. "Ordinary", "Did You", "Hold On", "Gifts and Curses", "Woman", "Who I Am" and "We Are" are AWESOME. And all the other songs--even the suites--are fantastic. This a no-skip, road-trip, repeat and shuffle CD.
This is a pretty good soundtrack. I liked it. I am already learning the bass lines to the songs. I think they could have made better songs for this movie, but they are pretty good.
The first Spider-Man soundtrack was a little disappoinging, but the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack delivers powerful ballads, and featuring many more mainstream artists with many original tracks. One of the best soundtracks of the year!
I really liked this soundtrack. It had all my favorite bands on it and some really good songs. My favorite song was "Gifts & Curses" by Yellowcard. I was a little disappointed after the Spiderman 1 Soundtrack but this one was great. The movie was also great. Good soundtrack.
