Hotter...Jackie and Rod's marriage ended a decade ago. Now they're together again, each with a fantasy that could tear them apart once more. Unless they bare their souls and admit what they really want from each other.

Hottest...Ed and Charmaine's sex life is already thrilling. Then they come upon the stimulating medical instruments that belonged to Ed's great uncle. So many cold hard toys. So much potential. So many ways to play doctor.

Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal

Gr 5-7- Phoebe is excited to be starting seventh grade. The aspiring actress is finally able to join Drama Club, a day she has been preparing for since elementary school. No more class plays but genuine productions with auditions. Then she discovers how much drama she has to endure before rehearsals start: mean divas, a crush, digestive malfunctions, and a rift between her and a friend. Despite all this, Phoebe perseveres and is disappointed to find herself cast in the Mission Choir in Guys and Dolls . Things only get worse when she finds out that everyone in the cast is expected to play spin the bottle. Phoebe's voice is funny and intelligent. She deals with teenage angst with flair and humor as she learns that staying true to yourself is more important than being popular.-Angela M. Boccuzzi-Reichert, Merton Williams Middle School, Hilton, NY

Kirkus Reviews
Seventh-grader Phoebe Hart desperately wants to be an actress, so she overcomes her self-consciousness enough to join the Drama Club, landing a minor role in Guys and Dolls. Temporarily blinded to the obvious flaws in her ninth-grade acting idols Mia and Delilah, Phoebe pulls away from best friend Harper. Further complicating her life is the "walking coma" Phoebe plunges into upon meeting the "Object of My Affection [OOMA]," Tucker. Caught in a power struggle between Delilah and Mia, a confused Phoebe's allegiances keep shifting, while she nervously obsesses about the Drama Club's traditional Opening Night game of Spin the Bottle. Kimmel perfectly blends the humor and angst experienced by most young teens in Phoebe's highly entertaining voice. Readers will cheer her hard-won steps toward disregarding peer pressure even as she continues crushing on Tucker, whose "lock of hair that brushed one eyebrow belonged in the Museum of Boy-tropolitan Art." In the end, she finds self-confidence, romance and comfort on the stage. Great fun, with many laugh-out-loud truths. (Fiction. 10-14)
