I didn't have very high hopes for this book because of the price, but there are relatively few books on spinning, and as the new owner of a wheel (and someone really wanting to learn), I took a chance. Sadly, my first assessment was absolutely correct.
Not only is this Nookbook poorly written, it attempts to comprehensively cover spinning, weaving, dyeing, and all aspects of them in relatively few pages. What essentially emerges is a superficial treatment of the most basic of facts on each craft; there isn't even enough information on any of the areas to create a half-decent encyclopedia entry. In addition, none of the information is new; it seems to have all been taken from the Web and "repackaged" in the hopes of a sale.
No wonder the author didn't wish to include his/her name. This would not have passed one of the classes I taught high school kids. Total waste of money.
