Applications made possible for cardiac CT, CT angiography and CT colonography are also discussed. The remaining chapters cover the organ systems and disease entities. The book also provides current information on radiation safety standards. Purpose: This book is organized in a convenient format, organized by organ system with basic principles of patient preparation, scanning strategies, and image interpretation. The tables, sketch diagrams, and illustrations adequately enhance each chapter throughout the book. Audience: Both trainees in radiology and practicing radiologists will find this outstanding book very useful. Features: "This book covers evolving technologies and new indications for 4-, 8- and 16-slice CT scanners effectively. Each organ-specific chapter starts with anatomy followed by basic principles of patient preparation and scanning strategies and image interpretation in a comprehensive manner.
