Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"Suzuki is called the Stephen King of his country, but that's not really accurate; King isn't nearly as adept at creating complex characters, explaining scientific principles or writing the kind of dialogue that might actually be spoken by humans." - Las Vegas Mercury

"...Suzuki is plowing a path that nobody else has traveled, ..." - Agony Columns

"Suzuki's ambitious trilogy does succeed, and it's hard not to be impressed with his aplomb in turning a straight supernatural horror mystery around into a piece of pure science fiction." - TIMES
“...a unique, alchemical quality... he has demonstrated a miraculous power for transmuting the very common into the very frightening.” -- Rue Morgue“An enduring modern archetype”-- SF Reader

Better than Ring 2 (US Movie)

This book is more of a science fiction novel, although it still has plenty of suspense. Koji Suzuki does a good job scientifically explaining what the 'Ring Virus' is and how it kills people. I also like the grim ending that leaves you excited for the final two books (Loop and Birthday)

    Blown away.

I have just finished reading Spiral. The beginning of the book is pretty slow but towards the end it DEFINETELY picks up the pace. When I put it down I felt like I was in a dazed stupor, because of the magnitude of information thrust at me in the end of Spiral. I would reccomend this book to anyone.

    Not too bad

Read 'Ring' last May, and I was looking forward to 'Spiral' thus could not wait to read it. It did an excellent job in encompassing the first book. I really enjoyed the pace and the suspense. The ending was a bit spooky. Is there hope for the human race? I look forward to the next book.

Wow! If you like 'Ring', you'll LOVE 'Spiral!!'

Wow, I absolutely love this book!!! While it may not provide the level of scares that one may expect from a horror book (nor does it seem to intend to), the story is extremely spooky, bizarre, mysterious, and absolutely brilliant. It takes everything you though you knew about the 'ring' mystery and twists it around into something completely different. This is especially true toward the end of the book, which includes several twists and big reveals. And it does so in a way that is truly ingenious. 'Spiral' is a must-read for fans of 'Ring' and for any one else for that matter!!!
