Incredible Series! DONT pass it up!

I agree with "Twilight who". I LOVED the Twilight Saga and have been crazy for that whole series but I was not expecting the thrill and the way I connected to the characters in this series! It has been a wonderful series to read and I'm SO excited for the next book to come out. I read the first 4 books all in one week because I was that excited and wanted more, more and more! I cried, laughed, got angry and clapped! I have the HIGHEST hopes Richelle Mead will not let us down and find some way for Roza (as Dimitri puts it) and her true love Dimitri back together and I'm hoping it comes from the grand healing of Lissa! Rose can be bonded to 2 people...Lissa and Dimitri...how awesome to have them all together. I'm also hoping that dream Rose had with Dimitri being together in the end...is fulfilled in the next book. The twists and turns (Rose's dad) in this series was just incredible and unpredictable. I can NOT see Rose with anyone else...Richelle made that connection between the two of them SO REAL and connected that they shouldn't be with anyone else...just can't see it. I love the dynamics between Rose/Dimitri (soul mates they are) and Rose/Lissa (bond mates). This book should be a movie as other comments have been mentioned. It is a vampire type book but it far more in depth with its characters and they are not just plain old "vamps"...awesome books! It would be an outstanding movie! The characters are young and some are older, which is great for us older people who can connect on a different level. Counting the days down for book #5!

Different from your average read :)

i think that this series will definitely keep you interested. i love how Rose handles things, because it is real. she struggles with decisions and with her temper at times like a normal person would and i think that makes the book easier for young teens to relate too. I also think that this book is unique among others because you think you know what will happen, but then it ends up completely different. And Rose herself acts just like alot of teens these days and i believe that something can be learned from here :)
And as she struggles with her loves in this series she handles it the way anyone would. but she also has priority over her feelings because she cannot just run into their arms. She has to fight her own battles and make her own mistakes and that is something ever has to do :)

My mom thought I was gonna have a heart attack or something!I loved it the charecters are wonderfully developed Rose,Lissa,Adrian,Christian, and mostly Dimitri! Yes,Dimitri, but I won't tell what happens with him!I also enjoyed seeing a new side to Queen Tatiana, not a side I EVER expected. There was twists and turns I never expected to see there and was not preditable like alot of vampire books! The ending left with a BIG cliffhanger that left my heart racing, palms sweating, and me craving more! This is the best book I've read in a lond time! READ IT!!!

Spirit Bound / Vampire Academy Series - Highly Recommended

Just recently finished reading Spirit Bound and I have to say it was wonderful! With one book remaining, Spirit Bound was probably one, if not the best book of the series. It's rare to find a series that holds your action and keeps you on edge throughout the entire time, but this series will definitely keep you interested. It's refreshing to have an author that writes with so much passion and grace. I'm grateful the author is not stretching the series out just to sell more books (which she could do), instead she is providing us with a series that you will read over and over again. From cover to cover, Spirit Bound has many shocking and exciting moments that will leave you on the edge of your seat. No matter if you are a teen or adult, this is definitely a book and series that you should read.

Stop rating nooks and ebooks or whatever else on reviews!

It really screws up other peoples outlooks on the books. It's really infuriating when a five star book gets 3 1/2 because of all the people complaining about the ebooks not being available or costing too much. If you have a problem with anything other than the contents of the specific book you're reviewing, please go find somewhere else to vent about it.

    Love Love this Series

I was not a reader before twilight and i loved those books i re-read them so many times that its crazy. After that i wanted to read something else and i was not really sure if i would find a book that i liked half as much as i liked that series.I saw the VA series and my husband got it for me for christmas, I fell in love with these books and the characters. I loved that Rose is a fighter and that she holds her own with the boys... well actually is better than the boys lol. She fights for what she cares about and its heartbreaking all that the she goes through for love. These books will have you crying and laughing and so mad that you just wanna say "What were you thinking" its so good. The passion is great. You feel what these characters feel and its sad in the end with Dimitri but hopefully it will end the way its should in the next two books. I cant wait for them to come out.
    This series tops twilight anyday!

    Best One So Far!!!!

This 5th book in the Vampire Academy series has got to be the best one yet. It was full of suspense, and emotions ran high through out the whole book. Rose is mixed up more than ever. She wants Dimitri, but he seems to not want her anymore. On the other hand, Adrian is more than willing to be hers, and yet he's not... he's not Dimitri. The ending will leave you yearning for the next and last book in the series. Too bad we have to wait till the Fall!!! This book is a definite must read, and you'll find yourself going back to re-read some few special parts... at least that's what I did!

    OMG WHAT A TERRIBLE BOOK

I'm not sure what happened with this book, Richelle Mead totally lost her touch on this one. What happened to the bad a** guardian I grew to love and respect, who loved Dimitri enough to try and kill him after he lost "the thing most important to him" his soul? The Rose in this book is a user of everyone around her. The only person she cares about is herself and the "love" she feels for him. If you ask me she's just infatuated with him, because she'll never fully have him. This book has got to be one of the worst books I've ever read. I can't believe I pre-ordered it. I hope the author returns Rose back into the character she once was or just kills her off at the beginning of the book and writes about what happens in the lives of the rest of the characters. Who knows with the dissapointment I feel after reading this book I might not even bother reading the next one.

    A Good Addiction Reviews

Beginning not long after Blood Promise closes, Spirit Bound follows suit with the other books and wastes little time catching the reader back up. The action begins immediately with only a line added here and there to trigger memories of what's happened before. With the big cliffhanger Blood Promise left readers on, Spirit Bound charges forward to face both those issues as well as a new array of events Mead has incorporated.

Rose is still the same fierce, determined girl we've watched throughout the series although how she has matured across the books remains clear. Not a full personality change, but her overall way of thinking has shifted in accordance with the events she's faced and is very noticeable and well played out in Spirit Bound. This strengthens further throughout the book and with Mead's strong ability to write emotional scenes, the reader experiences everything Rose does. Her sarcasm and banter add relief and entertainment, even in painful or action packed scenes. Her interactions with Lissa return in this book, showing again how closely connected these two are- and not only for their bond.

Lissa's character, I felt, grew tremendously during this installment. I found myself appreciation her far more than I had in the past and she now makes an even better counterpart to Rose. She develops her own intense determination and though she makes some shocking choices of her own, Lissa still remains a character most readers will relate to. Weak in many ways, it is understandable given her breeding and status and Mead continues to pull that through to the reader in a way that will negate most condescending feelings towards her.

Adrian is still absolutely swoon-worthy, a sardonic playboy who holds the ability to love intensely. He holds his own spark and passion and his interactions with Rose are a shining portion of the book. We get to see some new sides of Adrian in this book, showing the full scope of his character, also adding new elements to the plot as a whole.

Dimitri, of course, continues to play a role in this book, creating a large amount of friction throughout. His character is one of the best played out ones in the entire series. Mead does a wonderful job handling him in various situations, adding a few new layers and complications.

This plot is as stunning as those before it and though a few parts were predictable, Mead laid the groundwork for them in previous books. The entire book, however, is far from predictable and Mead has once again thrown a major, shocking curveball at her readers to change the game yet again. The ease in which Mead weaves the entire story is astounding as she ties off some story lines, continues others and even reignites some. As with the other books, I find my mind blazing with theories and ideas of where things will go from here but the only thing I am sure of, based on the series as a whole, is whatever I come up with is not likely to be what Mead has in store.

With a very enchantingly built world, established early in the series and expanded masterfully, a wide range of characters- many of whom the reader comes to know as personally and emotionally as Rose- and very fluent writing, Mead has another powerful installment to the Vampire Academy series. The overall thought put into things is becoming clearer, with each book showcasing Mead's talent more.

    Perfect!

Richelle Mead did an excellent job on Spirit Bound. It has everything readers will want: love, action, suspense etc. It was probably my favorite book in the series so far and it'll definitely be interesting to see where Rose will end up in Last Sacrifice.

If you want a great series to read go for Vampire Academy, in my opinion it's way better than Twilight or any other vampire books out there, the action is more raw, the writing is very well thought out and the story line is just plain genius!

Spirit Bound gets two thumbs wayyyyyy up!

    IMO - great work.

    5/21/10

I liked this book it was full of heartache and angst. Each of the characters dealt with their own love problems. The plot seemed to move really fast compared to the previous book. The book was mostly about Rose/Demetri/Adrian; I dont particularly care for how Rose strung Adrian along all throughout the book while secretly thinking of Demetri but she got her come comeuppance in the end. The ending was a total cliff hanger! I cant wait for book 6.

I AGREE WITH MY FELLOW FANS

I am too siked about the next book. I have to say that I read the House of Night series and it was good, but I didn't connect with the characters. So hands down this series is better then House of Night. I connect with Rose and her love for Dimitri. I like the fact that Miss Mead had Rose do something she despised, which is the blood whore thing, because we do things that we say we wouldn't do. So making this story unpredictable and that's one of the things I love about it. I really hope that Rose finds a way to change Dimitri back to a dhampir and then they can be together, because I really don't want her to be with Adrian. I mean he's ok and everything but her and Dimitri are bound together.

    The best in the series!

I have been waiting for a very long time for this book, so I would have been very mad if it wasn't good. But it was amazing! It was very different from the other books but still good. The only bad thing is the ending. It is kind of a cliff hanger. You are left wanting to know whats going to happen so if you want to wait a little while before ready, please do so. But I will say that I did not expect what happened AT ALL! I am usually good about guessing what will happen but I had NO IDEA that the book would take such a turn. It also doesn't start out slow at all. The whole book goes by pretty steadily. Not to slow but not to fast. All in all, amazing read, leaving you wanting more.
