Overview

This fascinating little book explores the ancient tradition of "spirit guides," how to access them and how to make use of them in everyday life. There's an amazing amount of life-changing information and insights packed into these pages: important historical background; famous spiritual teachers' use of guides; Jungian influences; the author's lifetime of work with his own guides; spirit guides and Near-Death experiences; scientific explanations for the existence of the inner world; the meaning of imaginary playmates in childhood; how spirit guides can empower our intuitive abilities, and simple, no-nonsense instructions that help readers access and work with their own spirit guides. Readers of the three previous editions of this popular book will want to add this edition to their collection just for the new chapter: "Choices On the Spiritual Path," wherein the author draws from the "spiritist" teachings of the 18th century Swedish philosopher and theologian, Emanuel Swedenborg, to better understand the subtlest messages of both higher and lower spiritual influences in our lives. This book has become a classic in the field of personal and spiritual development and a resource praised by some of the world's best known teachers and counselors.

4TH EDITION OF THIS BOOK--New Material

I thought it important to note here that this is the 4th edition of this book. (Original was in 2002.) This edition includes a new chapter, "Choices on the Spiritual Path," with extensive quotes by Emmanuel Swedenborg, the 18th century Swedish philosophy-mystic. "SPIRIT GUIDES" has received praises from dozens of readers and the cover copy includes an endorsement by bestselling author Andrew Ramer ("Revelation for a New Millennium" and "Angel Answers," who called it: "A wonderful guide to guides. I wish I had this book forty years ago when I was a scared child trying not to listen to them. Oh, the guidance I might have had in those years, if someone had given my parents this book to read." The book is friendly, highly readable, and well researched, with quotes from other authors such as C.G. Jung, Emerson, Stanislav Grof, and Albert Einstein. It tells about the authors original experiences with guides during his Near Death Experience, and continuing for over 40 years of his life. Includes clear instructions for accessing your own guides, that have been tested with hundreds of students and clients of the author.
