In Lavene’s mystery novel, Dae is hard at work hosting the first ever Mayor’s Conference Weekend at the Blue Whale Inn. After an unexpected hurricane leaves everyone stranded, Dae finds an expensive ring belonging to Mayor Sandi Foxx whose body is found later that day. After picking up on a vision through the ring of someone threatening her with a gun, Dae is convinced this is a case of murder. Whatever the cause, Dae is determined to identity the killer regardless the cost.

Dae O’Donnell is a woman with an unusual gift for finding lost things and a great heroine. Lively, fast-paced, and smart.

    A Great Mystery

A hurricane traps visiting mayors at the newly renovated Blue Whale Inn and when one mayor goes missing, Dae suspects that she's come to harm, especially after a vision showing intent. When the mayor is found dead, Dae will search beyond to find a killer. What a story! I love the light paranormal aspect of this page-turning, fast-paced and well-written mystery that was a good read from the first page to the exciting finish. I can¿t wait to read the next book in this delightful and charming series. With multiple connecting plots, great cast and friendly conversations this was a delightful read and I can¿t wait for the next book in the enjoyable and charming series.

    Highly Recommended!!!!!

A Spirited Gift is the third book in the "Missing Pieces Series" and the best so far!!! THIS IS A MUST READ SERIES!!! The 1st book is "A Timely Vision" and the 2nd is "A Touch of Gold". The books are well written and the characters so well developed they seem to come to life!! I have enjoyed following the life of Dae O'Donnell; who is the mayor of Duck NC, as she solves one mystery after another!!! The writers have researched the location of Duck NC so well you are going to want to add it as a vacation site to visit next summer!! Joyce and Jim have done such an excellent job writing this series that you will feel like you are right there with Dae as she solves the mysteries in each book. Joyce and Jim Lavene also have a Renaissance Faire Series out that is fantastic as well!! Happy reading!!!!
