When Arizona ranch owner, Adam Blake, falls in love with Priscilla WhiteCloud, sister of his Navajo foreman, the catalyst for the terrible consequences of their union is set in motion.
Amid the historical and political background of the American Southwest in the early to mid-1900's, SpiritPath paints a fascinating picture of the world of that time, encompassing events leading to World War1, the pursuit of the Mexican bandit, Pancho Villa, after his murderous raids on American soil, the horrendous conditions of the Mission directed Indian schools, the fledgling aeronautics industry, the 1929 Stock Market Crash, coinciding with the Government mandated Stock Reduction Plan, so devastating to the herding culture of the Navajo People.
Compelling love stories, interwoven with diverse yet profound values, both Anglo and Navajo, evolve as the children and grandchildren of Adam and Priscilla, seek resolutions to their personal conflicts and discover their individual paths to enduring love and spiritual harmony.

    SpiritPath by Pat Patterson

Set in the American Southwest, SpiritPath is a memorable historical novel about a woman of indomitable spirit. Determined to overcome prejudice and seemingly unsurmountable obstacles during the era of Mexican conflict surrounding WWI and beyond, this beautiful Navajo woman succeeds in emerging victorious and avenging her mother's tragic legacy. Written in elegant prose, the author has a voice that hooks the reader from the very first page, successfully weaving political, social, and personal events. Suspenseful and fast-paced, the reader is kept involved to a very satisfying end.

Probably the Best Book I've read in years and years.

SpiritPath took me out of myself and into a world I'd never imagined, a world of the everyday and the spirit place so integral to the lives of our Native American People. The historical facts alone were worth the read. I could not put it down and read 'way past my bedtime, anxious to see what happened next. The characters LIVE, both during and after I closed the pages. The front cover is off-putting but once the book was opened, I was lost in the beautiful prose and fast paced story.
