Overview

From a spiritual master unlike any, a spiritual masterpiece like no other. AUTHOR, TEACHER AND SPIRITUAL MASTER Jed McKenna tells it like it's never been told before. A true American original, Jed succeeds where countless others have failed by reducing this highest of attainments - Spiritual Enlightenment - to the simplest of terms. Effectively demystifying the mystical, Jed astonishes the reader not by adding to the world's collected spiritual wisdom, but by taking the spirituality out of spiritual enlightenment. Never before has this elusive topic been treated in so engaging and accessible a manner. A masterpiece of illuminative writing, Spiritual Enlightenment is mandatory reading for anyone following a spiritual path. Part exposé and part how-to manual, this is the first book to explain why failure seems to be the rule in the search for enlightenment - and how the rule can be broken. Spiritual Enlightenment follows Jed through several days and nights in his "accidental ashram"

Strongly recommended for any one on a spiritual path - if more 'stars' were available, I would pick more.

I went to this book after reading 'Butterflies are Free' which quoted this book extensively. The book will capture your attention from the first page and hold you until the end - where you will look forward to the second book in this series. Whether you believe the author as being 'enlightened' or not is not to be seen as an issue. What the author presents and the manner he presents it are what this book holds for you. It will open your eyes - it will stretch your mind - it will have looking deeply at your beliefs - most of all it will have you looking at yourself as you never have seen you. This is not an ego trip as is the case with many spiritual writers - this is one man's journey on a path not much different than yours. And the question raised in your mind as you read this - can you do what this man has done? Are you ready for it? Read it and then see if you can answer. When you are done you will want to move onto his second book. For me, I finished reading this first book, and within minutes receive the second one to continue my journey with the author.
