Overview

Friendship, love, marriage, and children can offer us our greatest joys in life or our greatest sorrows. Selfless love is the essential key to happiness in all our relationships, but how do we practice it? In this book Paramhansa Yogananda, one of the best-loved spiritual teachers of the 20th century and author of Autobiography of a Yogi, shares fresh inspiration and practical guidance on: Friendship: broadening your sympathies and expanding the boundaries of your love, How to cure bad habits that spell the death of true friendship, How to choose the right partner and create a lasting marriage, Problems that arise in relationships and what to do about them, The divine plan uniting parents and children, The Universal Love behind all your relationships.

Few people have viewed their fellow human beings with as much fondness, compassion, humor, and true insight as Paramhansa Yogananda. Both humorous and down-to-earth in his description of human foibles, Yogananda also holds out the highest, divine potential within us and gives practical, sometimes surprising, steps to reach it. Written in the 1920s and 1930s, these articles express timeless insights into humanity and a depth of wisdom rarely available.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal

Yogananda may not precisely be a household name, but his Autobiography of a Yogi, first published in 1946 and rarely out of print thereafter, is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential spiritual titles of the 20th century. Yogananda himself, sometimes called "the father of Yoga in the West," was certainly crucially important in the popularization of Eastern Yogic tradition in America and Europe. This work gathers several articles written in the 1920s and 1930s, at the height of his popularity, on the application of yogic principles to human relationships, including friendship, marriage, and parenting.
