School Library JournalK-Gr 2-Colorful, intriguing photographs accompany easy-to-read light verse about sea creatures. Although the rhythm is uneven, the rhymes are a fun source of information, with a little bit of whimsy woven in: "Mr. and Mrs. Moray Eel/are in line at the Shrimp Salon./They do not want a haircut/or to have fake nails put on./They want to have their/teeth cleaned/by the shrimp at the/Shrimp Salon." A dotted stingray, a red-lipped batfish with a huge nose, and a many-legged arrow crab are among the animals featured. Pleasant for reading alone or for adult/child interaction.-Anne Knickerbocker, formerly at Cedar Brook Elementary School, Houston, TX Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
