Overview

Remember that girl you went to high school with that was spoiled rotten? She had it all; designer clothes, fresh hair styles and jewelry. She thought she was better than everybody, or rather you thought it. But remember the day you found out that she lived in the projects/ghetto/hood just like everybody else? You were shocked, and now less envious of her, knowing she came from exactly where you did. Well, Trouble is that chick! Spoiled rotten by her brother, who has a complex occupation, and her boyfriend, the star B-ball player at their high school being sought after by colleges across the map who don't mind lacing him with SUVs and putting money in his pocket to sway him towards attending their university to play ball-Trouble seems to have it all. And what she doesn't have, she manages to get. But unlike some of the chicks in these other street lit tales; she doesn't have to use her body to get things. She uses the ghetto diva attitude that makes people believe she deserves the best and therefore they do back flips trying to provide. This urban novel has a completely different twist than any other written thus far. In Trouble's journey, she loses her brother, who she is closer to than bark on a tree, and feels as though it's the end of the world. But when she finds out that the person who murdered him had once tried to get with her, a huge scheme comes to mind in order for her to seek revenge. She pretends to like her brother's killer in order to get him right where she wants him, but her plan backfires when something happens that she never saw coming. She falls in love with her brother's killer.

    Instant Classic!

This book was fantastic! It's hard to believe that this is the author's first time writing a book! Her ability to tell a story that captures the readers undivided attention is nothing short of amazing! The characters are realistic and familiar enough that the reader can identify with. Kudos to you Brandi Johnson! You have earned a lifetime fan in me! I can't wait to read the sequel! God Bless you and good luck with your writing endeavors! PEACE! Charmelle G.

    Just A Brat

Chandria is a diva at heart, she is beautiful, smart, and high maintenance. Sporting the latest fashions and having money at her fingertips with the support of her big brother Jyson. He makes it his business to let his lil sis want for nothing. Chandria is the envy of many and she will not have it any other way. On top of being the baddest chick at Mansfield Senior High, she fall head over heels for Dariel Daniels, who¿ve she had a crush on since she was six. Whatever Chandria wants, she makes it her business to get. She is hit in the face with reality when tragedy strikes and everything seems to be going down hill thereafter. Will Chandria be able to uphold her superstar status through the turmoil?

I commend Brandi Johnson for a well written first novel. The characters were definitely presented to the reader very well. I truly love Chandria and Jyson characters, some of the choices that they made I didn¿t agree with but everybody is not perfect and have to learn from there mistakes. There were some funny parts that made me laugh out loud but there were some parts that made me teary eyed that I didn¿t want to happen. I didn¿t want this book to end but of course it has. All 436 pages were read in 2 days. This book can be someone¿s true to life story. Ms. Johnson is well on her way in the literary arena.

    Good

This book was good, the last couple of chapters had me in tears. I've never cried so much while reading a book. Great story line, I liked all the characters but I have to say I wish the ending was a little different. It was a really good book though.
