Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
It is a haunted house, but even from the cover, it does not look very scary. There is a smiling green witch and a white ghost and even the pumpkin and skeleton are grinning at the reader. The book is filled with Mylar mirrors including one on the cover and one on a spread that when opened is convex to make the reader look like a skinny bones. The mummy is partially unwrapped and kids can see themselves wrapped from head to toe. Suddenly everything is dark. What is going on? It seems that the witches are working hard to get the bubble gum out of werewolf's hair. It does not make a lot of sense but kids may enjoy lifting the flaps and looking in the mirrors. Not an essential purchase and strictly of appeal for Halloween. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
