Great resource This book was written by around a dozen sport psychologists. Each chapter is written by a different psychologist who has specific training in that field. They cover topics such as drive, goals, motivation, teamwork, coaching, and substance abuse. I highly recommend it to anyone who is an athlete, coach, or who is interested in psychology. I have read several similar books to aid with my coaching career, and this is how they compare: 1) The Champion's Mind: This book also addresses the need for mental training alongside phsyical training. It has less technical information but reads more as an exciting and inspiring non-fiction novel. 2) Successful Coaching: This book gives you a solid foundation in all areas related to being a sports coach. A read must-have. 3) Training Soccer Champions: This book is excellent if you work with female athletes because they are motivated much differently than men in sports.
