From The CriticsReviewer: Pietro Tonino, MD (Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine)
Description: This is an introductory text for athletic training students.
Purpose: The book is designed to teach how to evaluate and treat common sports injuries. More importantly, it attempts to teach when to refer patients to subspecialists.
Audience: This book is intended for student athletic trainers and may be useful for other allied health professionals. Most of the authors are credible authorities.
Features: It is heavily illustrated, which is important in a book that deals with these subjects. It is organized intelligently.
Assessment: This book does not deal in depth with most subjects because of the numerous areas discussed. Students will find it useful, but more experienced readers will find it to be too generalized.
