Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Eleanor Heldrich
The television series Go Diego Go! is the inspiration for this small sturdy book for Nick, Jr. fans. There are five double-page spreads, each one featuring the dark-haired boy named Diego whose English is sprinkled with Spanish words. Spanish terms are always printed in italics. Diego is an animal scientist who is looking for reptiles and amphibians. The reader is asked to help him find them. Cut from the center bottom of each page is a pull tab. On the first page, Diego is looking for an iguana; a firm pull on the tab will produce a series of seven flip-up pictures of an iguana slowly creeping out of a bush. Excelente! You found the iguana! The reader—and Diego—can also find a tree frog, a snake, a crocodile, and a leatherback sea turtle. This interesting and unusual type of movable book will have appeal for fans of pop-up books, and nature-loving young readers will enjoy the content. Reviewer: Eleanor Heldrich
