one of the pluses of Spring Fire is the depiction of sorority life. Here we see for the first time the inside workings of pledge parties, rush week, blackballing, all of it. The love story is very tame for today but it makes you think how sensational it must have been in the 50's. I am amazed that Packer then went on to write solely crime stories. Quite a change. I do think Spring Fire is a delightful read about the 50's and being gay. Did they even use that word then? I don't think so.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
