The Beauvisage Novels #3 (A Beauvisage/Raveneau Novel)
New Author's Choice Edition
Originally published by Ballantine Books

A Romantic Times Magazine “All Time Favorite” selection for 1984. GOLD rating!

Hardened and cynical, Nicholai Beauvisage returns to America after a decade in France and brushes with death during the French Revolution. He lost his heart to a beauty who died at the guillotine and now Nicholai wants only to amuse himself with adventure and a woman in his bed. His heart is closed to love.

Lovely and independent, Lisette Hahn pours all her energy into running her Philadelphia CoffeeHouse, where politics and business are discussed by patrons like Thomas Jefferson. She is proud of her success in a world of men and has been able to rise above the desires of her heart – until she meets Nicholai Beauvisage.

Beloved characters from CAROLINE, TOUCH THE SUN, and SILVER STORM return here as supporting characters in this sensuous & enchanting story that sweeps from 1793 Philadelphia across the ocean to the glittering salons of London. Don’t miss the delicious tale of a headstrong woman and an irresistible rogue for whom love is the ultimate challenge!

Meet the Author

My most frequently asked question: "In what order should I read the Beauvisage & Raveneau books?"
Although the titles stand alone, these two series intertwine with some characters crossing over, and many readers enjoy them in chronological order:
1781 - SILVER STORM
1783 - CAROLINE
1789 - TOUCH THE SUN
1793 - SPRING FIRES (A Beauvisage/Raveneau Novel)
1814 - SURRENDER THE STARS
1814 - NATALYA
1818 - SILVER SEA (A Raveneau/Beauvisage Novel
1903 - TEMPEST

My career as a novelist began when I was twenty-three, with a phone call from New York announcing that CAROLINE would be published by Ballantine Books. Can you imagine my excitement? I went on to write 12 more bestselling historical romances set in Colonial America, Regency England & America, Medieval England & France, and the American West.

My novels have won many awards over the years, but what means most are readers' messages like this one: "When I read your books, I can't wait to turn the page, but never want the story to end." It's been a thrill to have all my novels published as eBooks (newly edited, with gorgeous new covers!). I'll also release a new Raveneau novel, TEMPEST, in 2012.

Today I live in northern California with my husband, Alvaro, in a 1930's Spanish cottage. When we aren't riding our tandem road bike or traveling in our vintage airstream, I love spending time with family, especially my two young grandsons. I also recently received a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant and feel blessed to have two rewarding careers!

Loved the story! Loved how you brought characters back from the previous books along with mentioning St. Briac from the book "You and no other". Fabulous!

-ePLEASE READ IN ORDER!! You will find the stories richer in the telling as the lives cross over from the Beauvisage and Raveneau novels. I bought the box set of each, not only is it a better deal, but to fully appreciate all the character's it is a must buy. I know it they are stand alone books, but I can't imagine I would enjoy the stories as much as I have, if I didn't understand how they all came together. I found Lisette character strong in the beginning and the end, but didn't care for her lack of back bone in the middle of the story. It was like I was reading two different Heroine's, but she does get very interesting in the end. Nick is a strong alpha male, as usual women fall all over him and he has taken advantage of their favors. The love making isn't descriptive as you get with many author's, yes some things are mentioned, but not page after page as some Romance Author's do. I loved the ending a lot and this book brought character's back from the 2 previous stories in this book and from book one of the Raveneau bundle. If you need someone to buy you some books, please I can't stress enough these two bundles are a must have!! Rarely, can I say I would re-read a series, but this is a keeper. I read a review on another site about this book, that disturbed me. The reviewer stated when this book came out in print form, there was infidelity, but when it was re-done for e-book format, that part was re-written. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW UPSET I WOULD HAVE BEEN, IF THAT PART OF THE STORY WAS KEPT IN. So just know, if you read this story years ago, that part has been deleted (thankfully). (ljb)

Following the love story of Nicholai and Lisette was truly a memorable one! I had fun seeing how this story unfolded and seeing how they fall in love. It is a timeless story that could be told in any era and still resonate with readers! I very much enjoy all of Cynthia's books!! She is a great writer! You must read them!!

Lisette is frustratingly stubborn and proud. I sometimes want to strangle her myself. And Nick nearly gave up on her. Their passion is what drew them together.

Sighhhh, Nicholai Beauvisage....Now there's a man! I'm terrible at writing reviews, but these novels of Family Beauvisage need to be read! Lisette and her insecurities almost ruin her opportunity for true love and passion with this delicious man! Wouldn't we all want to marry a Beauvisage?? Cynthia Wright continues to succeed with her great writing, her details of the revolutionary period (which I learned more about from her books, then I did in school!) and the characters that become like family! I'm so glad we get to visit them in each book.
