Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Phyllis Kennemer
The colorful characters of Gabba Land discover the pleasures of rainy weather. Rain makes us wet, but it is important because it helps plants grow. When the clouds open up and the rain pours down, Muno does not like getting wet, but Foofa reminds him that plants and flowers are getting a much-needed drink of water. Water helps them grow. She runs off to get an umbrella and boots for everyone. Thereafter, all of the characters appear in boots, but the one umbrella is never used. The characters frolic in the rain, enjoying their dry feet. When the rain stops, everyone admires the rainbow that appears. They enjoy the beautiful sunny day with birds and butterflies, but are looking forward to the next rain shower. The brightly colored illustrations and animated characteristics of the creatures will keep youngsters interested. This is a nice introduction to the importance of rain and the joy of frolicking in spring showers. Part of the “Yo Gabba Gabba!” series. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D.; Ages 3 to 6.
