School Library Journal - School Library JournalPreS-K-Three books that introduce math concepts with simple scenarios, attractive color photographs, generous white space, and large fonts. The first title is devoted to counting and adding up to 10 objects found in nature, as well as kites in the sky. The second title presents subtraction based on emptying an overflowing toy box and deciding how to share the contents. Problems in both books appear in words and in Arabic numerals. Sizes uses rhyme and excellent close-range photography to demonstrate a broad vocabulary of relevant descriptive words. Over 15 adjectives introduce the concept, and photos of the "short snake" and "heavy sunflower" are eye catching. Each title includes a small picture glossary. These books solidly reinforce classroom presentations of the topics.-Mary Elam, Forman Elementary School, Plano, TX Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
