Spy Story
An attempted murder, the defection of a highly placed KGB official, and an explosive nuclear submarine chase beneath the Arctic Ocean seem to have little connection to one another. But they are the sparks that propel Pat Armstrong — also known as Harry Palmer — into the heart of a brutal East-West power play.
And when Armstrong returns to his own apartment — where someone who looks and dresses just like him has taken up his identity — we are drawn into the world of spies and counterspies, plots and counterplots, that is Len Deighton's unbeatable trademark.

About the Author

Len Deighton was born in London in 1929 and is considered one of the most important British espionage writers. He has written more than thirty books that range from historical fiction, dystopian alternative fiction, and brilliant nonfiction on the Second World War. He served in the Royal Air Force, attached to the Special Investigation Branch. He then attended art school and later worked as an illustrator and photographer. In 1960 he went to France, where he wrote his first book, The Ipcress File, which became an immediate and spectacular success. Since then he has published numerous books of fiction and nonfiction, all garnering international acclaim. Several of his books have been adapted for film and radio, including The Ipcress File, Funeral in Berlin, and Spy Story. In 1988 Granada Television produced the miniseries Game, Set and Match based on his trilogy of the same name, and in 1995 BBC Radio 4 broadcast a real-time dramatization of his 1970 novel Bomber.

Matthew Lloyd Davies is a veteran actor, audiobook narrator, and director. Highlights of his career include regular appearances with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre, in the West End, on international tours, and in award-winning television shows and films.

With experience in radio, a master's degree in directing, and extensive experience in presenting at corporate events, Matthew has honed his ability to tell a story. It is that ability which he brings to each and every audiobook he narrates and produces.
