Brothers Use Pub Philosophy to Discuss Faith
Danny and his brother, Sam, will drink to that! In fact, they will drink to almost anything in this daring novel that was nominated for the Young Australian Christian Writers' Award 2011.
The two have just moved to the suburb of St. Patrick's, and although they have ties with the local Church, they discuss religion more thoroughly with the patrons at the nearby pub over a pint or three.
Their lively discussions centre on Christian community, denominationalism, interfaith dialogue and tolerance, and End Times theology. Deep topics for this group of rogues who trespass on Parliament property, let loose wild animals at the zoo, get fired from their jobs as mall Santas and streak at the city's Christmas pageant.
"Darren has taken some of today's liveliest debates about religion out of the pews and into the pub - and then put the pub and its characters into the pages of a work of fiction. An engaging and entertaining way to get to grips with much of the current ferment about theology and religion."
- Rev. Tim Costello, CEO World Vision Australia

    Page turner

Once you pick it up and start reading, you will keep going until you get to the end. It doesn't matter what you believe or what type of fiction you prefer, the characters are very real and the plot is great and you will be hooked! The only gripe is that part two is not out yet!

Awesome novel, could not put it down. It was captivating felt like I was really there with all the characters, as like I was one of them. Reading it on and on, the images became real as if it just finished viewing on tv. Parts of the way through, thoughts of me reflecting on my own life. I see that i have a group of mates like that aswell full of crazy antics. Really looking forward to the next book, hoping that it also will be a novel that one cant put down.
