"The St. Paul Conspiracy" was named the MERIT AWARD WINNER for COMMERCIAL FICTION for the Midwest Independent Publishers (MIPA) Book Awards and it also was a Minnesota Book Awards Nominee.

The morning after Halloween, the city of St. Paul awakens to find that a serial killer terrorizing the blue-collar working women of University Avenue has struck for the fifth time. The citizens of St. Paul are on edge.

Fourth-generation St. Paul Homicide Detective "Mac" McRyan thought his day was going to be less stressful. His day would involve paper work, coffee, and maybe even an early trip to the pub. Then his cell phone tells him his day is about to change. A body has been found and it's not just anyone.

"Your day just got worse," Mac tells his captain.

The victim is Claire Daniels, the Twin Cities' most prominent political and investigative reporter. Claire was stunningly attractive. She had blonde hair, blue eyes and a curvaceous body she worked on relentlessly. Claire was the desire of every man in town.

With the Daniels murder on top of the latest serial killer attack, the political and media pressure on the St. Paul Police Department only builds and places Mac in the middle of a dangerous and high-stakes murder investigation that will ultimately have national political and security implications.

    A Fast-Paced Thriller

The St. Paul Conspiracy is a fast-paced thriller. The story follows St. Paul, Minnesota homicide detective Mac McRyan as he solves some of the city's most notorious murder cases. Those investigations, though, shed light on other criminal activities. McRyan's dogged determination, keen eye for detail, and bravery in the line of fire allow him to solve a puzzle when others can't. Author Roger Stelljes has crafted a fascinating 'who dunnit' with many twists and turns along the way. Just when you think you know the answer, you realize you don't. His descriptions of the characters and places are so vibrant you can practically picture the story taking place as you read. For those readers familiar with Twin Cities landmarks, this is even more true as many of the locations in the book bear a strong resemblance to businesses and buildings located there. This is a fun read. Well thought out and creatively written.

Roger Stelljes is amazing!!!! In his first novel he has transpired mystery and murder into a hometown feel that brings you into the action. His character development is uncanny and his storyline is astoundingly exciting. This book will keep you turning the pages, one after the other, until you find yourself searching online for his next book! A really quick and compelling read!

I loved this book. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this first time novelist could seemingly have such an established, engaging, and consistent writing style. The well written story peeled away nicely to reveal a complex and compelling plot. I don't know, I just think that Roger Stelljes nailed it on this first book of his. I have every reason to believe that his second book will not be disappointing.

    Jury is still out........

A little too long. Should have just stuck with the mystery plot and left out the vision with God parts. It's not that I don't believe and I can understand one vision. But to have a running conversion with Him? I also understand that the book is fiction. I just think it would have made a good mystery novel dealing with the crime, the courts, and the prison story.

This book was great to read. Easy to like main characters. Very good plot and follow through on concept. I read a lot of crime stories and this ranks up there in the top of them.

Ranks up there with James Patterson, Lisa Gardner and others. Will read other books by him.

    LOVED IT!

I stumbled upon this novel, looking for something that compared

I stumbled upon this novel, looking for something that compared to some of my favorites, such as James Patterson, Jeffrey Deaver and Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I was not prepared to be blown away by this book. The author writes in such a way that I was never confused with all the twists and turns, and the number of characters. He seems to use clever conversations within the book to reiterate the plots, the sub-plots and characters names, which always kept me in the loop. The story lines were incredibly entertaining and I was continually surprised by each shocking revelation. I've read a lot of mystery murders, and count this as one of the best I've read. I've since read every other novel by this author. It as nearly 800 pages on my nook and I enjoyed every of them and was sorry when I read the last page.
