Surprisingly quite good for a smashwords read. Professional, well writtten, and thankfully - well edited! Excellent character development, likeable characters who work at a small town newspaper, and stumble upon a murder that they investigate. I like the various twists and turns. No sex, swearing or gore. Looks like more in a series, I would definitely read more by this author.

Young adult and for those who like easy mysteries. I appreciate "clean" short books in between the gory books I read. Cleanses the mind palate, so to speak. I usually check out other books by the authors I get free books from, and make further decisions depending upon plot, length and cost. This book was worth reading. I have seen the "Shelley" reviews before and wondered why bother writing that. Authors like our reviews.

I love a good read . Fast paced and focused . The characters were well developed and did not stray from who they were. Can't wait to read the next one.

Charming. Quick read. Good characters, nice who-dun-it. With a couple of twist. Never know who you can trust. But thats the way the cookie crumbles.

This is a lite hearted mystery. I liked it a little more than I thought I would. It also had good humor to it. I really liked the main character Kat. She's sassy!

Characters are a bit flat but it's an OK story. I liked the plot twist at the end! There were some editing/grammatical issues but nothing that was TOO distracting.

To me this was extremely hard to get and stay interested....at the beginning. Great character development as time went on and ended up being well worth reading. Looking forward to see future books from Elisabeth Crabtree.

I enjoyed this Cozy. It was a fast paced, light, and quick read. No sexual aspects, so I think it'd be suitable for teen mystery readers. The characters interested me enough to look forward to reading more stories revolving around them and it was fun to read a murder mystery that wasn't gory, since I was in the mood for a lighter book. I wasn't able to identify the killer right from the beginning for once, either.

I loved this book. It was a fast paced mystery novel that had nothing that would be considered adult content. I would recommend this book to young adults because it is very easy to understand. If you wsnt something light to read between novels that are very gory this would be a great read for you. The beginning is a little slow paced but once you get into the book it is practically impossible to put down. Elisabeth Crabtree may have just have became my favorite author just by reading this one book of hers. I am going to be looking for more of her books for sure. One problem with the book I had was that it had a grammer error by saying you father instead of your father. The title really explain the book which I like. With only fourteen chapter the book was really fast and had no adult content making this a great book for youger viewers. This book was free so why would someone not buy it. Reading this book on my nook was a great expirence and I loved the way Elisabeth Crabtree writes. Can't wait to read more of Elisabeth Crabtrees novels and will be indefinatly tell all my friends about this book.

Nice plot and bit of a surprise with the ending. Just the right recipe for a Cosy mystery.
