Library Journal
This book presents the fundamental techniques of working with stained glass and is intended for those getting started in the craft. Excellent color photographs and diagrams show materials and tools, as well as the cutting, assembling, and soldering of glass items. The projects, created by crafters Mitchell and Ward, include hanging glass panels, boxes, and lamps. All have pattern diagrams and technical tips for construction but no step-by-step instructions. This is a good book for use with classes of beginning glass crafters.

I bought this book after taking a stained glass class, and it has been a tremendous help to me. It is clear, concise and well illustrated. The instructions are easy to understand and the projects are not just simple little 'school' projects. This book is destined to become my stained glass bible.

Excellent information for beginner and intermediate stained glass students. Describes and pictures tools and methods necessary for success. Very good resource for future projects.

This book is arguably the best written and illustrated book on the craft of stained glass. I was fortunate to have taken a course under Martha Mitchell in Asheville and her techniques shine throughout this book. Chris Rich's style of writing is easy to understand and her directions are easy to follow. She learned the process as she wrote the book thereby working through the challenges we all have faced in the learning process. I cannot recommend this book more highly! Every student of this art should have a reference copy! JLC

This is a great instructional guide and provides wonderful inspiration. I have not been able to employ any of the techniques at this point since I am now saving up to buy all of the equipment described in the book. I was able to locate a starter kit for $250 at Delphi Glass.
