Stallion Gateby Martin Cruz Smith
Los Alamos lies on a mesa surrounded by a vast
In a New Mexico blizzard, four men cross a barbed-wire fence at Stallion Gate to select a test site for the first atomic weapon. They are Oppenheimer, the physicist; Groves, the general; Fuchs, the spy. The fourth man is Sergeant Joe Pena, an Indian, and a man of great complexity--warrior, musician, hero and informer.
Los Alamos lies on a mesa surrounded by a vast Indian reservation. It is the most secret installation of the war, the future encompassed by the past. It is also a magnet to soldiers, roughnecks and scientists, including Anna Weiss, a beautiful and talented refugee with whom Joe falls deeply in love.
"A magnificent successor to GORKY PARK...a powerful and erotic idyll, blending love and betrayal, humor and heartache, jazz and war. It is also about the most important ten seconds in history." (Publisher's Source)

While I liked Cruz Smith's later book on a related topic, December 6, I really enjoyed his take on the testing of the first atomic bombs in New Mexico. His characters are always so complex and vibrant. It was so easy to picture the lead, Joe Pena, that I swear I know him already. Another fantastic novel by the sadly, always under-rated Martin Cruz Smith!

Blight and Cupcakes were two dorks in their high school. So there is one popular mare that might named Starlight. Starlight taunted them all time except for teacher watch. Cupcakes has a yellow body, brown mane and wore a glasses. She is kind, sweet, adorable. But for Blight, she has red body and he name is black. Both of them are unicorns. Starlight is not alicorn, to be fair, she is advanced unicorn than entire school. Cupcakes waved two kind stallions. But they accidently waved to Starlight's coltfriend. She stomped and said,"That is my coltfriend, rather you have one, oh silly me, you don't have one!" Her posse laughed. Cupcakes was little upset. She annouced,"I have one. Way better than you." Starlight said,"Prove it. Tomorrow." School bell rang for dissmal. The went to Blight's House. Blight said,"But- the school she said prove it!" Cupcakes nodded but little scared,"No way we get one." Blight sighed and paced around. Cupcakes was lying her her bed. She said,"Your father!"
