Stallion Six is Lieutenant Colonel Guillermo Camacho, the commander of the Stallion medium tank Battalion of the mercenary Jasmine Panzer Brigade. French Canadians on the planet Tumbler hire the Stallions and a mechanized infantry battalion to end a Kurd rebellion. Great plot, lots of combat (no super weapons!), treachery by allies, and interesting descriptions of mercenary life including sex that actually moves the plot forward. Stallion Six follows Fleisher's War for Profit Trilogy and the story is told from the perspective of a minor character from the trilogy.
(Warning: There are editing problems in the book but they don't detract from the story.)
I didn't realize until I wrote this review that Stallion Six owes much to Xenophon's Anabasis. Other books that build on the Anabasis are Coyle''s The Ten Thousand, Norton's Star Guard (merged in Star Soldiers), and Ringo and Weber's Prince Roger series (March Upcountry, March to the Sea and March to the Stars).
