This was the first DS9 book I read. Still one of my favorites. It takes place during the first season. Long before Odo found his people, and even before he knew they were called changelings. Another changeling comes aboard the station in this book. His origins were never explained, most likely he was one of the 100. He goes on a killing spree. He found the terror he inflicted to quite entertaining. He and Odo had several battles. Extreme shape shifting was involved. The rest of the story involves religious extremism, Cardasian arrogance, Ferengi Greed, and a temporary imbalance in the wormhole.
Awesome book, read it!
