This volume is lots of fun! These are the novelizations of the classic Star Trek episodes that were done by James Blish in the 1960s and 1970s. This is not something that somebody hacked out last year. Rather, this volume holds something that was quintessential to early Trek fandom. These adaptations have Blish's unique flavor, and sometimes have details that were not present in the episodes themselves. Remember that Trek was still being developed when Blish wrote these, so had to add a little of his own exposition which might not fit our later idea of things in Trek. Please disregard the ignorant one-star review left by "Anonymous."

These are stories translated off the original series scripts, exactly what it says on the book insert. Don't go buying it if that's not what you wanted then come here and write an groundless review. I loved all the Star Trek TV shows and have absolutely no problem adding this beautiful book to my collection.

If this is the hard back of all of the paper backs that I bought this should be great.

All of these stories are mildly based off of the plot of the scripts of Star Trek The Original Series...if the person doing the writing had never seen the episodes or read the scripts. I've read fanfiction better than these stories, waste of money and time. Severely disappointed. In The Naked Time he made Spock sing drunkenly in his quarters instead of cry. Don't waste your money, if you ordered this item, cancel it, please on behalf of yourself.
