Favorite ST series: 1) TNG 2) Voyager/DS9 (tied, close second) 3) Enterprise 4) Original Series
Favorite movie: Insurrection/Generations (tied)
This book is a great blend of characters and story telling with a great story in general. If you know your TNG, I don't think this book will disappoint. You have to have some reference to the Original Series to really appreciate it though. The story never seemed contrived but rather it was very intuitive.

This is one of my favorite novels in the Star Trek saga. Friedman brings a brilliant peice of work to life with ties in to several ST episodes, the main as in a continuation of Unification. His poetical style brings the reader into the action as the original crew of the Star Ship Enterprise gangs together once more in the traditional way of going around the 'Prime Directive' to rescue thier fellow shipmate and friend. Picard has to balance this less than conventinal attempt with his own troubles of trying to keep the respective governments at bay while trying his own rescue ordered by Starfleet Command. A definate recomendation for those who have a vivid imagination and can appreciate all the generatins of Trek. A true continuation of the legacy given to us by the 'Great Bird of the Galaxy'....................qo'mey poSmoH Hol ~ language opens worldsWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
