David Eicher
A complete, current review of the material needed by backyard astronomers . . .

It deserves a place on the bookshelf of anyone who looks at the sky.

Alan MacRobert
A great help to anyone, especially the novice, who is wondering what to get. I don't know of any other single source that covers so much of the equipment scene.

    Starting and continuing in astronomy

This was a great book that helped me get started in Astronomy in 1994 and it remains an excellent reference book to this day.
