I agree on the 1st few sentances. Captivating. Longer, though, please.

    Catpaws Boarding School chapter 1

Alone. That's all Arthur ever knew. The dark gray tomcat, his pelt dusty and tangled, was finding someplace. Somewhere? Maybe someone. He didn't really know. All he knew was that he was lost, alone, and it was getting dark.
"I hate this blasted wasteland. I hate it. I HATE IT!!!" he shouted into the vast remains of the broken city. After a great tornado, nearly all life in the city had been destroyed. Except Arthur. He was the lone survivor, the lucky one. After all, he was alive. And that was all that matters. He slowly settled underneath a shattered porch and waited for the sun to rise. It was certainly better for him to think about the stars than the gnawing hunger that crept through his stomach. The dark gray tomcat soon felt another paw. A cat paw. 'Is it alive?' Arthur thought. He followed the paw underneath the broken house and soon got his answer.
"Follow me. I know a place where there is food and shelter."
A survivor? Arthur could hardly believe it. He followed the strange cat to the outskirts of the city. "Excuse me, but who are you?" Arthur asked, his blue eyes scanning the cat.
The cat replied. "I am Kaito. I am also a survivor of the great tornado." Kaito was quite handsome. He had sleek black fur and shining emerald eyes. In comparison to Arthur, Kaito was something out of a fairy tale. "Oh... so where is this place you were speaking of earlier?" Arthur meowed. "Actually, we're almost there." Kaito mewed in amusement."
