A great insight on Amidala's thoughts

I had always enjoyed reading a character's diary ; and Queen Amidala's diary is no exception! I LOVED IT. In the movie the Amidala we see is dressed on formal monarch robes , expressionless face ; usually emotionless voice. However, in her journal, we get to see fourteen year old girl, not Queen Amidala Princess Of Theed and Queen Of Naboo , but Padmè Naberrie, daughter of mountain farmers. She expresses her thoughts in a 'i'm-a-queen-but-a-regular-girl-too way, making it even more interesting. I really recommend this boo kto anyone who wants to know the girl behind a Queen's mask.

    Very good!

Relive the movie <I>'Star Wars: Episode I'</I> through the eyes of the newly elected Queen Amidala. This young teen begins this journal <I>before</I> the movie began. Readers see the training Amidala went through in preparation for her future post. In the book we find out <I>WHY</I> Amidala puts lipstick on her upper-lip fully, yet only a slash on her lower-lip. We see the defenses that were made by the guards, such as a decoy, but never dreamed would ever have to be used. (Oh come on, you did not HONESTLY think those handmaidens were there for LOOKS, did you?) <BR><BR> **** Not as magnificent as Princess Leia's journal, but just as enlightening! In the movie, Queen Amidala had to keep her face blank so her adversaries could not read her. In this book, we see all the thoughts, fears, and strategies that went on behind the royal mask. In fact, this book made Amidala's character more impressive than the movie did. It can also be used as a quick refresher before you flock to see <I>'Episode II: Attack of the Clones'</I> in the Summer of 2002! Very good reading! **** </p><BR> Reviewed by Detra Fitch </p>

How Amidala REALLY feels about all this

This is a great book. It lets you find out what the fourteen-year-old queen of Naboo really thinks about the attack on her planet, being rescued by Jedi, escaping, etc. I really couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened, even though I've seen the movie!

    A Queen's Emotions

The novel I've read is Star Wars Episode 1: Phantom Menace: Queen Amidala's Journal. This journal is based on her emotions in this time period of life. The theme is based on the life of a character from the movie. This book has characters from the movie featuring Queen Amaidala, Jar-Jar Binks, and Anakin Skywalker. The setting is in another galaxy on a planet called Naboo. The plot is her city is under attack. Then two Jedi come and save her.She becomes emotional during the story. It has a unique form of writing. If you like aliens, space, and action you will find this interesting.
