Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Cara Chancellor
In the first four books of the "Star Wars: Rebel Force" series, Luke Skywalker dodged multiple assassination attempts by X-7, a super-soldier constructed as part of the Empire's Project Omega. Now, he has a link to X-7 in the form of Lune Divinian, a man he once considered a friend but whom he has since discovered was hired to kill him. When Div escapes from his cell on the Rebel base, Luke's tentative command of the Force draws him to an Imperial ship where Div is being held—and smack into Ferus Olin, a Jedi hiding his own identity to protect Luke and Princess Leia. Together, Luke, Ferus and a reformed Div hatch a plot to bring X-7 to the Rebel cause by planting hints of his pre-Omega identity. Now, it remains to be seen whether their uneasy alliance will bring them once step closer to freedom... or bring a dangerous enemy into their midst. Wheeler's spot-on characterization of a conflicted Luke, rakish Hans Solo and frustrated Leia will appeal to fans of the classic "Star Wars" trilogy, but the large amounts of assumed background knowledge make this book appropriate only for those familiar with earlier Star Wars work. While the series' themes echo many of those from the movies—including friendship, individuality and destiny—Wheeler's presentation of them remains fresh, vibrant and educational for young readers. Good read

I enjoyed seeing old characters like ferus olin make a return appearance. Also very well done showing luke struggle with learning about the jedi and how to be one.
