Don't "shush" this author. Maybe the story flow wobbles a bit, and the character development is reeeeally slow, but Petra (aka Peaches) delivers wonderfully fresh and uncalculated stream of consciousness narration that keeps taking random little sidetrips down memory lane as she encounters various characters from her life growing up in small town Washington. What some reviewers find juvenile, including the quirky phrases for referencing body parts, are soooo bad they're actually funny good and keep changing, while the flirty dialogue and inuendos are sometimes laugh out loud funny. Quirky but entertaining fun, especially with a main character who feels realistic, and isn't a pushover, no matter that (or maybe because) she doesn't fit the modern concept of beauty.

Great Book!!! Love Peaches and love the writing here. It seemed so natural and kept me following along happily and greedily. Loved it! If you enjoy humorous sarcasm like I do this is your candy :)

If you enjoy snarky, sassy, bold heroines then this series is for you. Peaches Monroe will have you laughing out loud as she navigates her life. I love her ability to say what she wants without a filter along with her quirky sidebars that she gives the reader. Peaches manages a book store but her world gets flipped upside down one day when the sexy actor Dalton Deangelo ends up in her bookstore and she ends up in his arms. From here Dalton pursues Peaches which baffles her but who doesn't have insecurities about themselves. As they get to know each other we start to see another side of Peaches as she embraces who she really is and comes out of her shell. New opportunities are provided to her because of her connection to Dalton. Of course, misunderstandings happen which is where we dangle at the end but never fear the next 2 installments are now available and you will want to see what happens next in Peaches world.

I'm not "shushing" the author but the writing wasn't great nor was it compelling enough to care what happens next. What really bugs me is that Peaches is always so worried that Dalton is going to find someone skinnier or prettier and leave her while she herself is lusting over other other men while flirting with them which seems hypocritical of her. Plus the ending is so cheesy that it gives me no hope for the future of the series.

This was an enjoyable novel. I really loved the parts that Mimi Strong wrote the character Peaches speaking to the reader. Those were parts that really set the book apart from others.
