    Out of Character Characters

This book would have been an okay book if the characters weren't supposed to be SG-A characters. If you are looking for a book that continues what I've come to love in the TV series, you will be very disappointed. The author's take on the personality of Rodney isn't just that he is an arrogant, egotistical genius, but that he is also continually mean-spirited and cutting. Every time he talks, the author uses adverbs like acidly, cuttingly, sourly, etc.. I don't know about other people's perceptions, but in the series I see the team socializing and laughing together in their off hours. I have a hard time imagining the team in this book being able to do that comfortably.
Also, the author seems to get the roles of McKay and Sheppard reversed. A number of times, Rodney directs the team and John takes a slightly resentful secondary role.
So, to repeat myself, 'Entanglement' is an okay sci-fi book (not great, but okay), but if you are looking for more SG-A, you will be very disappointed.

    Couldn't put it down

I thought this book was excellant. It had action, suspense, humor and a great Wraith twist - right up to the very end!
