About the Authors Jacek Artymiak is a freelance journalist, translator, consultant, and software developer with four years of Linux experience and six years as a Unix systems administrator. The specialty of his work as a consultant in recent years has been in aiding companies and individuals in the switch from Microsoft Windows to Linux, focusing on desktop, end-user applications of Linux, and freely available software. He has published dozens of magazine articles ranging from technical pieces in Linux Journal and LinuxPlus to articles on cooking in the Polish edition of a popular American men's magazine. Kate Wrightson is a technical writer with several years of Linux experience and over ten years of experience using UNIX. Kate has published articles on topics ranging from the history of American higher education to clear business writing; she is the co-author of KDE for Linux For Dummies from IDG Books Worldwide and contributed to StarOffice for Linux For Dummies.
