Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 4-6-Two wide-ranging surveys with concise, specific texts; plenty of well-designed, full-color paintings, and a few small photographs. Planet Earth goes beyond descriptive geography to cover weather, environmental concerns, and alternate sources of energy. Stars and Planets includes sections on astronomy and space exploration. Page layouts are full but not confusing, and text and illustrations are given about equal space. These series entries may not be as glitzy as Dorling Kindersley's ``Visual Dictionaries,'' but the paperbound editions will make sturdy collection-strengtheners. Stars and Planets has a gazetteer.- John Peters, New York Public Library
