    A fun read

There were numerous reasons I wanted to read/write a review on Stars Collide; I will list some of them here: *Hollywood (been there, love it!) *Movie Stars (although I have no desire to be one, it IS fun to think about being rich and people thinking I'm ALL THAT!) *LOVE (I love a great love story!) *Television sitcom (I think it would be fun to be an actress on a television show! I can be a fabulous drama queen-ask my family!) *Comedy (I love to laugh!) What I thought would be a "fun book", turned into an amazing personal adventure! I LOVED this book! I loved the entertainment it provided-and that I couldn't put it down! When my long workday ended, I loved that I had a fabulous adventure to run home to read! Not to mention, as a parent, I loved that I had a great book to get excited about and read while encouraging my children to do the same! I have one of her books on order and can't wait to read every one seh's written! I love the way she writes, her writing style, and how her book flows. I truly admire her as an author and want to grow up to be just like her! I would HIGHLY recommend this book if you're anything like me! You will NOT be sorry, I promise!

Fast, entertaining, and a wholesome read!

This is a book for someone who is looking for an escape. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was told from the Christian perspective of Holywood, which is refreshing! It touches upon the subjects of loss and dealing with issues surrounding people advancing in age with grace and insight.

Touching Story of Faith & Love!

This was absolutely the most adorable story! Dealing with Alzheimer's in a sweet, loving, and sometimes comical way made this story so sweet. But the best part...at the center of every whirlwind that popped up, God was the center!

    Beautiful story!

Very Glad This Was a Free Book

I downloaded this on my Nook when it was offered for free. I must confess that I struggled to get through the first 2 chapter and then gave up. Perhaps it improved further in but, oh my goodness, those first two chapters were painful to read and laden with one cliche after another. "His baby blues stared down into my soul" "Everything seemed to move in slow motion" "Just as Scott swept me into his arms for that magical moment..."? In Chapter 1? Perhaps this is a sequel and all the character development had taken place in a precious novel. I don't know. I had understood it to be the first in a series. "Christian fiction" should be a synonym for excellence. Regretfully, this book made it a synonym for mediocrity.

I rate this 1/2 of a star. The book was dumb & boring. Found myself skipping pages. I am a Christian but this was so very preachy that it became irritating. Even for a freebie it is a waste of time.

    Ok

The story started out ok, but then i felt like everything was linked to being a Christian to the point where the story got awkward because it wasnt a natural flow. I also feel as if Grandmas character had some completely out there moments to the point where it just made the story worse off.

    Monotonous

I've read three other books by this author and she had a similar issue. The female character in every scene gets choked up. In the weddings by bella series, every person had tears in their eyes on every other page. In this book, she consistently had a lump in her throat. After the weddings by bella series i said i wouldn't likely read anymore by mrs. Thompson, but i wasn't paying attention and bought this book. I quickly realized my mistake with the monotony. Also, the story didn't have the necessary dramatic elements to make it a truly gripping read. The final "episode" of the show is quite fun though.

I didn't see this anywhere in the synopsis that this was Christian fiction, which isn't my cup of tea. I couldn't even get a couple of chapters into it.

    Not An Interesting Read

I couldn't finish this book. I could deal with the amateur writing style but the plot felt like it wasn't voing anywhere. What really made me put it down was the religious undertones it started to take after a few chapters in. If you are a religious person and can look past the primitive writing you may like it, otherwise I suggest finding a different book to read.

    Good book!

Good book,i'm a christian, and although I am a strong believer some parts of the book where a tad over religious almost making it awkward.

Other than that the book is amazing with an interesting twist at the end!

    Christian Fiction/Contemporary

    Reviewed by Cindy Loven

Kat Jennings lives in Worth Manor, with her once famous grandmother Lenora Worth. Lenora was a movie star back in the days, but unfortunately the onset of Alzheimers has Lenora living in the past, which is sometimes an embarrassment for Kat, but she is fiercely protective of her grandmother.

Kat is a leading lady in her own rights. The star of a sit com, called Stars Collide, she and her onstage co-star Scott Murphy are in love on the show, and their own personal lives are seeming to follow that parallel.

Lenora confuses a on stage declaration of love and proposal for the real thing, and sparks are flying. She seems to be telling anyone and everyone about the proposal. Can Scott and Kat keep their budding romance out of the eyes of the public? Will the public attention squash, what bit of feelings they have towards each other?

A cute story that flows together wonderfully. The references to actors/actresses, movie lines and old movies is a neat part of the book, especially for any fans of classic old movies. This is a great book, guaranteed to keep you entertained. 315 pages US $14.99 4 stars.

This book was provided for review purposes only, no payment was received for this book. Available January 2011 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.

So, so disappointed in this book by Janice Thompson. I just found it boring to read, and as another critic said, just monotonous. I hate leaving this review, but it just did not inspire me. I love it that she writes Christian fiction, and I did like the parts where the characters share their faith, etc., but still, it was just not up to par with her other books.
