Barbara JacobsWishing upon a star becomes eminently more practical when Brown transforms these heavenly figures into ready-to-make, earthbound objects. Following "Enchanted Circles" and "Hearts", this collection of more than 40 projects relies on vibrant colors, a range of craft techniques, and sophisticated yet simple designs. Stars twinkle on all kinds of surfaces: tiles, decorative bowls, hatbands, bed linens, boxes, rugs, and, of course, desserts. Instructions are delivered in narrative form, accompanied by Debbie Patterson's very detailed color photographs. But don't expect lessons on the basics of color washing, needlepoint, and knitting (among others); this is mainly for craftspeople who have already practiced reaching for the stars.
