Starting a nonprofit business can be rather tricky, especially since there hasn't been much solid information on the subject until this book. Joan Hummel's compilation, Starting and Running a Nonprofit Organization, carefully details the many aspects of putting a non-profit business into action. Among them are getting a board of directors in place, following the by-laws and legal requirements, developing a reasonable budget, raising funds, and building staff and community rapport. All of these are equally important for a smooth-running operation; doing business the nonprofit way can be complicated, but it doesn't have to be daunting.
